Worship Team Ministry

Would you like to join our Worship Team?

The Worship Team works with the pastor to plan the organization of each worship service, as well as schedule the celebration of special Sundays, whether part of the church seasonal calendar (such as Christmas, Lent, Easter and Pentecost) or part of the local church tradition (such as Rally Day, UMW and Scout Sundays, Teacher Appreciation and Great Day of Singing). The team consists of representatives from each area of worship leadership: music, liturgy, communion, ushering, and sanctuary décor (e.g., flowers, banners, Christmas tree, palms). Musicians meet once a month to select hymns that enhance the worship themes, and to solidify the accompanist and special music schedule. The team as a whole meets monthly  to review the previous month and discuss any worship needs or concerns. Those involved in leadership are also invited to meet briefly each week with the pastor the Monday following worship to “debrief” the services of the previous day: what went well and what might need improvement.
